Official name

Gardenia Tiare Tahiti Flower

The recipe of our Monoi Oil strictly follows the requirements of the name Traditional Monoi Oil.

For a traditional monoi oil coconut and tiare flowers must be grown in French Polynesia, with a special mention for the coconut that needs to be virgin and undried (copra). The order of French Polynesia No. 350 CM of April 7, 1988 regulates the name:

"The name traditional monoi oil is reserved, with regards to the usages in French Polynesia islands, to the product resulting from the maceration and the settling under the sun of fresh grated coconut mixed with one or more Polynesian plants.

Coconuts and plants must have been grown in the territory of French Polynesia.

The monoi oil thus obtained must not have suffered any physical or chemical treatment, except a simple filtration to remove macroscopic impurities."
